Case: Very little polished case which keeps its original shape with still very present and sharp angles and a very thick polished case but as in the origin according to the quotation of the brand. The watch must have been worn very little. Very visible chamfers and very well preserved case.

Dial: Very rare and in perfect condition, gilt lacquer and iron track, swiss only patina with its original radium which reacts to uv and geiger counter and the hands which match well.

Diameter: 37mm

Bracelet: Riveted oyster bracelet in perfect condition with all its links and little strech. Reference 7206 endlink 80.

Our opinion: The submariner called “James Bond” or small crown is the first version of submariner of the 50’s real tool watch used by divers and in the first James Bond movies. The case without crown protector gives it a vintage look but so modern for the 50’s proving again that Rolex has always been ahead of its time in terms of tool watches. Beautiful example of the small James Bond reference 5508. The particularity of these models is that they are mounted on lacquered dials very rare and often in bad condition. This one is perfect, with a nice patina and a nice insert. A very nice vintage and collector watch from the 50’s the famous James bond with its little winder without crown guard! A must have in any serious collection
