Movement: Universal Geneve cal 285 featuring a 12 o’clock sub dial to have a memo clock for example in order to remember an appointment.

Case: Lightly polished case which retains its original shape with angles still present and a very thick case. The watch has also been worn very little with few signs of wear and a lightly marked and unstitched caseback. Very nice quality case.

Dial: Rare and in good condition, In good condition, original unpainted with beautiful two tone dial and radium Arab index and hands very nicely patinated in an orange hue.

Diameter: 37mm

Strap: Vintage style leather strap.

Our opinion: The Aerocompax chronographs were mainly produced by Universal Geneve and the waterproof ones like this one are very sought after and production at the time was not that high compared to other types of chronographs, especially in a waterproof  case with round pushers. This is is even more rare because it was made by Girard Perregaux only one seen in this configuration. The basis of the caliber is really close to the one used by Universal at the time cal 285 with the 12 o’clock memo function. Large diameter of 37mm for the time and bicolor dial with 4 subdials as well as a very beautiful patina. Rare watch in waterproof steel version and branded from Girard Perregaux.
